Yaqoob doesn’t quite have AOC’s sass, and the music in her video is a bit more bland. But the content is near identical

In 1987, Joe Biden famously plagiarized a speech by the British Labour party leader Neil Kinnock. Well, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and these days it seems that the copycatting works the other way. The Labour party, led by the radical Jeremy Corbyn, is today so smitten by the socialist sisterhood in the Democratic party that they have taken to mimicking them. Look at the new video from Salma Yaqoob, a Labour party mayoral candidate in the West Midlands. It’s a total rip-off of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s successful 2018 campaign vid. Just watch:

All’s fair…

All’s fair in class war, of course, and intellectual property must be theft anyway, so perhaps Yaqoob’s team feel no shame in lifting from the AOC script. Certainly, they didn’t hold back. Yaqoob doesn’t quite have AOC’s sass, and the music in her video is a bit more bland. But the content is near identical. ‘This is about people versus money,’ they both say. ‘We’ve got people. They’ve got money.’ Yes, Cockburn has heard it all before (though he tips his hat in the direction off Milk Media, for pointing out the similarity).

Social justice knows no bounds. Jeremy Corbyn’s team seem positively besotted with the handsome Latina congresswoman. He has called her up to discuss ‘progress’ and ‘the movement’ and the two have tweeted sweet nothings at each other.

Yaqoob, who used to lead the so-called ‘Respect party’, has a lot in common with AOC. Both women have been accused of anti-Semitism, because you can’t really be called progressive if you don’t wind up Israel these days. Hell, whatever gets you elected, right? Women like them aren’t supposed to run for office…
