The social media puritans are at it again. This time, they’re after Sydney Sweeney, the talented young Euphoria actress.

Her crime? Attending her mom’s sixtieth birthday party. That’s right. While other twenty-something actresses are in the news for DUIs or rehab-stints, Sydney is trending on Twitter for uploading photos of her mom’s party on Instagram.

The mob took issue with a T-shirt worn by one of the party guests, featuring a symbol associated with “Blue Lives Matter.” Instead of simply disagreeing with the sentiment and scrolling past, it seems that these sleuths instead cyber-stalked Sweeney’s family and — God forbid — found some of them wearing parody MAGA hats emblazoned with the message “MAKE SIXTY GREAT AGAIN.”

After Sweeney claimed last month that she works normal jobs in between shows because, “actors aren’t paid like they used to be,” Cockburn would suggest that she cash in on the defamatory claims of Twitter users saying that Sweeney’s family were “present at the Capitol riots.” Another nut claimed, “This is why a lot of white people don’t see fascism because they love their mama and Mama can’t be a fascist.”

While dozens of tweeters branded her racist, one user “Captain Fabulous” came up with a great idea: Sweeney should simply emancipate herself from her whole family. He claimed: “political differences are no longer about finances and taxes, it’s about civil rights, with one side striving to ensure only straight white men have them. Why would you continue to associate with people like this?” Cockburn assumes that Captain Fabulous doesn’t get invited to many parties.

This isn’t the first time Sweeney’s family have caused her to hit the headlines. In an interview with Ellen Degeneres, the actress admitted that while watching a season premiere of Euphoria, her grandparents declared that Sydney had “the best tits in Hollywood.” After a huge cheer from the audience Sweeney went on to explain that her grandma was actually there for the interview, and the camera panned to her granny who threw out a thumbs up.

In retaliation to the social media hate, Sydney tweeted:

You guys, this is wild. An innocent celebration for my mom’s milestone 60th birthday has turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention. Please stop making assumptions. Much love to everyone and Happy Birthday Mom!

A fine statement — but given Sweeney told the world that her publicist costs more than her mortgage, Cockburn has an idea. Maybe Sweeney should leave the PR to her grandma, who will likely stick up two-fingers to the haters and tell them exactly where to go.

If Sydney Sweeney is going to keep ending up in hot water, at least we know she’ll be well dressed for it.
