Tim Scott’s campaign preppers
Rumors are flying that South Carolina senator Tim Scott is on track to announce his candidacy for president in 2024. The senator was in Iowa this week — and a tipster has provided Cockburn with more fuel for the fire.

Scott’s Senate campaign started adding conservative media folks to their supporters’ email list this week, as journalists received messages welcoming them to the “team” they never signed up for.

The forced sign-ups seemingly occurred the same day Scott gave a sweeping speech in Des Moines, in the first caucus state in the Republican primary….

Rumors are flying that South Carolina senator Tim Scott is on track to announce his candidacy for president in 2024. The senator was in Iowa this week — and a tipster has provided Cockburn with more fuel for the fire.

The forced sign-ups seemingly occurred the same day Scott gave a sweeping speech in Des Moines, in the first caucus state in the Republican primary. He pitched conservatism as the antidote to anger and victimhood, leveraging his own family story as proof that being a racial minority is not a handicap in America. Inspiring, sure, but hardliners argue Scott’s history of advocating for criminal justice and police reform should be disqualifying.

Either way, Cockburn is keeping his fingers crossed for an awkward showdown between Scott and former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, who first appointed Scott to the Senate while serving as the Palmetto State’s governor. That’ll be a great day in South Carolina…

Viveks election helper doesnt love election results

Cockburn’s comrade Matt McDonald has been on the campaign trail in New Hampshire this week. He spotted a familiar face helping long-shot presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy with his grassroots operation: Kathy Barnette, who was beaten by Dr. Oz in the GOP primary to be senator for Pennsylvania.

“Kathy was the first person to join my team,” Ramaswamy told a roomful of local businesspeople.

That would be the same Kathy Barnette who set reporters quivering in their Rothys during her Senate run after it emerged she had led three buses of “pissed off patriots” to the January 6 Stop the Steal rally, referring to the day as “our 1776 moment.” NBC’s Dasha Burns tweeted pictures of Barnette marching with a Proud Boy who was later arrested for breaking into the Capitol.

Election successes are built on the backs of broad coalitions, after all…

If the Tanzanian designer clothing fits…

A new twist has emerged in the case of Sam Brinton, the nonbinary former Biden administration official who was let go after being accused of systematically stealing women’s luggage from airport baggage claims.

Asya Khamsin, a Tanzanian fashion designer, revealed on Twitter earlier this week that she believes Brinton not only snagged her bag from Ronald Reagan Washington Airport in 2018, but then repeatedly wore her custom designs at various public events. Khasmin shared several side-by-side photos of her clothing as featured on her Instagram or the runway, versus Brinton donning the same outfits — rather poorly, Cockburn might add.

Brinton already faces up to five years in prison for a similar luggage theft that took place in Minneapolis and up to ten years for a case in Las Vegas.

Flashback: finally, a no-fault divorce tradcons can get behind

February 20, 2023, Marjorie Taylor Greene on Twitter:

“We need a national divorce. We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government. Everyone I talk to says this. From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are done.”

December 22, 2022, Bryan Metzger in Insider:

“Republican representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has finalized her divorce with her now ex-husband, Perry Greene. Judge Bryan Thomas Johnson, a superior court Judge in Floyd County, Georgia, issued a final judgement and decree of divorce on Thursday, documents show.”

Hey, if it works for one of us, it could work for all of us, right…?

Follow the thought leader… Prince Harry?

BetterUp, the mental health nonprofit that’s brought on Prince Harry as its chief impact officer, is preparing for a virtual conference in the next couple of weeks. Amazingly, their advertisement for the event promises attendees they will hear from “some of today’s brightest thought leaders, researchers and psychologists”… including the aforementioned Duke of Sussex.

Cockburn had never considered Prince Harry as a “thought leader” before, but perhaps he would accept that descriptor for Harry’s wife, the illustrious Meghan Markle. After all, Meghan seems to lead Harry’s thoughts quite well.

BetterUp also says that the conference will “dig into the science behind what drives productivity, performance and employee wellbeing in today’s workplace.” Who better to speak on that topic than someone who hasn’t worked a normal job in their entire life?
