At just before 2:30 a.m. ET, President-elect Donald Trump took the stage in West Palm Beach to declare victory as the 47th president of the United States.

“This will truly be the golden age of America,” Trump said. “It will make America great again. There was no other path to victory. We will make you proud of your vote.”

After thanking his family, his youngest son Barron towering over him and Melania, he went through a litany of shoutouts and thank-yous to his inner circle, including Elon Musk, who he praised as “a genius we must protect” after giving a detailed rundown watching a SpaceX rocket land after a launch; and Dana White, who he invited to the stage to offer thanks to a roster of podcasters including Theo Von and the Nelk Boys. Media has indeed changed — and it’s clear who’s now in charge.

Trump also invited his running mate Senator J.D. Vance up to say a few words. “After the greatest political comeback in American history, we’re going to lead the greatest economic comeback in American history under Donald Trump’s leadership,” the vice president-elect siad.

Trump later said that God spared him in his assassination attempt and said he had plans for him in this second term, promising to turn things around.

“Today will be remembered as the day that the American people regained control of their country,” the president-elect said.

It doesn’t appear that there has been any phone call from Vice President Kamala Harris to concede, even as most outlets have all but declared Trump the winner.

Kamala Harris dodged the stage at her election party at Washington, DC’s Howard University, her alma mater, sending out her campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond instead and standing up her campaign staff, volunteers and supporters. No word from her campaign yet other than a brief announcement that she’ll be speaking tomorrow.
