Pete Davidson is comedy’s human Etch-A-Sketch. The King of Staten Island star is plastered in tattoos, though he’s proved indecisive of late as to what art he wants to wear on his skin for the rest of his life.

Paparazzi photos that were published this weekend indicate that Davidson is ditching the elaborate depiction of the late Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Eagle-eyed Turning Points Memo reporter Hunter Walker spotted the in-progress removal after Davidson was snapped frolicking on a Hawaii beach with his Bodies Bodies Bodies co-star Chase Sui Wonders.

Wonders, who plays Davidson’s on-screen girlfriend in the movie, is rumored to be his latest celebrity sweetheart, after he dated Kim Kardashian, Kate Beckinsale, Emily Ratajkowski, Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor, comedian Cassie David and was engaged to Ariana Grande.

The tabloid press fixated on how the Saturday Night Live alum has had his tattoos dedicated to Kardashian and her family taken off: the phrase “my girl is a lawyer” — a reference to Kardashian’s current studies; the words “Aladdin” and “Jasmine” — which refers to an SNL skit the pair co-starred in when she hosted, and the initials “KNSCP” — which stand for Kardashian and the four children she had with Kanye “Ye” West.

But Cockburn is far more intrigued by Davidson’s decision to rid himself of the RBG tat he got from artist Jon Mesa in November 2018. Why now?

Perhaps Davidson has had a change of heart after dwelling upon Ginsburg’s refusal to retire from the court during the Obama presidency, which gave Donald Trump a third Supreme Court pick and the Republicans a 6-3 majority? Maybe he wanted to ditch the tattoo after the leak that Roe v. Wade was going to struck down, a decision that was a partial consequence of Ginsburg’s stubbornness, but felt he couldn’t start scrubbing her without raising the ire of his ardently feminist SNL colleagues.

Whatever the reason, Cockburn can’t blame the comic for not wanting her head on his shoulder forever. The justice who took Ginsburg’s place on the court, Amy Coney Barrett, might make for an appropriate replacement — as an immensely qualified, good-looking older woman with a legal background and several kids, she seems like much more Davidson’s type…
