A surprising item from Down Under: Aidan Maese-Czeropski, the former Senate staffer who was fired after he and his partner filmed themselves in flagrante delicto on Amy Klobuchar’s desk in Hart 216, has resurfaced in Australia after touring the world.

Maese-Czeropski gave an interview to the Gay Sydney News about the fallout from his December 2023 rendezvous – which readers of this newsletter were the first to learn about. Maese-Czeropski gave an interview to the Gay Sydney News about the fallout from his December 2023 rendezvous – which readers of this newsletter were the first to learn about. Maese-Czeropski, who worked as a legislative assistant for then-senator Ben Cardin of Maryland, says he spent “a little bit in the psych ward” after his firing, before moving to Sydney by way of South Africa, sub-Saharan Africa and the Mediterranean.

“Professionally I could not get a job in Washington, DC,” Maese-Czeropski told the outlet. But now Maese-Czeropski has embraced his “Senate Twink” moniker and set up OnlyFans and JustForFans sites where supporters can purchase his pornography for $9.99 a month. No reason why he couldn’t do that from the US capital.

“Everyone in DC knew me, and it was kind of gross and horrifying because I’m not someone who likes to be in the public spotlight at all,” Maese-Czeropski said. “I’ve noticed… the passive partner tends to take more of the blame,” he noted. “I got all these death threats, hatred. And the guy who was the top didn’t.”

Then again, his partner did not work in the US Capitol – nor did his partner run a public Twitter/X account upon which he posted several explicit nude photographs of himself which included his face…

Inside Trump’s White House Easter Egg Roll

The duality of man was on full display during President Donald Trump’s Easter celebrations this weekend. On the one hand, he dunked on the “Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting and scheming so hard to bring Murderers… back into our Country” in a Truth Social post. On the other, he hosted a much more civil Easter Egg Roll at the White House yesterday.

Trump also commemorated the late Pope Francis, ordering that all flags be flown at half-staff in honor of the pontiff, who met with Vice President J.D. Vance just hours before he died in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The President also joined children on the White House lawn for a coloring book session. Hunter Biden, a legendary former White House artist, was sadly nowhere to be seen.

There was one interesting first at this event: corporate sponsors. Meta and YouTube logos were spotted on the Lawn, as was a mock New York Stock Exchange booth. While all proceeds will go to the White House Historical Association and its partnerships, according to the White House, the sponsorships were still an easy way for corporations to butter up to the famously transactional Trump.

Throughout the day, everyone from the President and First Lady Melania to Kash Patel and Pete Hegseth was roaming around the grounds – as well as at least one Easter Bunny, who did not have to escort Trump around, unlike his predecessor.

A very unusual WHCD weekend

Cockburn is not quite sure what to expect ahead of this weekend’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner festivities. Usually the President attends the dinner – this year, he will not. Usually there is a comedian compèring – this year, Amber Ruffin was canceled ahead of time by the WHCA board “to ensure the focus is not on the politics of division,” according to its president Eugene Daniels. The roster of publications holding events is also different from previous years: less Politico, more National Pulse.

Either way, your correspondent will dutifully drag his carcass through as many shindigs, garden parties and box socials as his liver permits. Send on your invites to cockburn@thespectator.com – and keep an eye out for an extra special post-WHCD edition of Cockburn’s Diary early next week…
