Doug Emhoff knocked up nanny during affair

Vice President Kamala Harris’s husband, Doug Emhoff, admitted this Saturday to cheating on his first wife following an explosive report that he once got their nanny pregnant.

“During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times on account of my actions. I took responsibility, and in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side,” Emhoff said in a statement provided exclusively to CNN.

The report indicates that more than a decade ago Second Gentleman Emhoff cheated on his then-wife with a blonde nanny, Najen Naylor, who taught at the Willows, a Californian private school attended by his two children.

According to the Daily Mail, someone with direct knowledge of the affair says that Naylor became pregnant, but did not keep the child. Other sources confirmed that Naylor did not “keep the baby.”  Sources also told the Daily Mail that following the affair, Naylor quit her job at The Willows.

Kerstin Emhoff said in a statement Saturday: “Doug and I decided to end our marriage for a variety of reasons, many years ago. He is a great father to our kids, continues to be a great friend to me and I am really proud of the warm and supportive blended family Doug, Kamala and I have built together.”

Emhoff’s first marriage ended in 2009; he met Harris in 2013 and married her in 2014.

Reports suggest that Harris knew about the incident, and so did the Biden campaign. With Harris as the front-runner this time around, however, the story has become increasingly relevant, especially after years of unsubstantiated allegations that Donald Trump has paid for his former partners’ abortions.

At least one of the journalists bylined on the story, veteran White House reporter Jennifer Jacobs, was fired, reports say. 

KAMALA’S CANDIDATE Vice President Kamala Harris will announce her running mate in a video message on Tuesday, Politico reports. Harris held interviews on Sunday with Arizona senator Mark Kelly, Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro and Minnesota governor Tim Walz, while Kentucky governor Andy Beshear, transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg and Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker have also been vetted.  

POD SAVE THE UNION Dozens of staff at Crooked Media, the company that produces the popular liberal podcast Pod Save America, walked out Monday in protest of the state of negotiations between the company and the workers’ union. The Writers Guild of America has described Crooked Media’s bargaining position as “anti-union.” 

SECRET SNOW SERVICE Former Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle allegedly wanted to destroy the cocaine found in the White House last summer, three Secret Service sources told RealClearPolitics. Although DNA tests discovered a “partial hit” on the baggie, it was never publicly revealed to whom the powder might have belonged. 

Pelosi’s Mount Rushmore revision

Former speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said during an interview over the weekend that she believes America should “honor” President Joe Biden by adding him to Mount Rushmore.

On CBS News’s Sunday Morning, journalist Lesley Stahl asked Pelosi about reports claiming she led efforts to remove Biden from the presidential ticket following his disastrous debate on June 27. Pelosi denied being part of a pressure campaign to get Biden out.

“I wasn’t the leader of any pressure [campaign],” Pelosi told CBS. “Let me say things that I didn’t do: I didn’t call one person. I did not call one person. I could always say to [Biden], ‘I never called anybody.’

“What I’m saying is, I had confidence that the president would make the proper choice for our country, whatever that would be, and I said that. ‘Whatever that is, we’ll go with,’” she added. “He knows that I love him very much.”

She claimed that Biden was at the “top of his game” when he ended his 2024 presidential bid, and that he deserves to be added to the South Dakota monument alongside George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.

Biden is “such a consequential president of the United States, a Mount Rushmore-kind of president,” Pelosi said in the interview, continuing to praise the president’s accomplishments.

“Are you really saying that he belongs up there on Mount Rushmore? Lincoln and Joe Biden?” asked Stahl, shocked by Pelosi’s comment.

“You have Teddy Roosevelt up there. And he’s wonderful. I don’t say take him down. But you can add Biden,” Pelosi replied.

RFK: bear with me

There’s one presidential candidate who may have a secret plan to deal with bear markets — and it’s the same one who used to have a brainworm crawling around his skull.

With the global economy in chaos today, all eyes could soon turn to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The Independent presidential candidate took a novel strategy of getting out in front of a potentially negative story by doing a video with Roseanne Barr where he discussed picking up a dead bear a woman ran over and dumping it in Central Park, because leaving a rotting bear carcass in his trunk “would have been bad.”

At the time, the bear body caused a minor ruckus in the streets of New York, but no one ever got to the bottom of the story. Until now. 

The video, which featured more jump cuts than a Joe Biden ad, was an attempt to preempt an upcoming New Yorker piece, Kennedy said. While he dumped the bear around ten years ago, the liberal outlet somehow seems to have found the police report from the scene and reached out to him for comment.

If Kennedy had killed the bear himself, it would suggest that perhaps he doesn’t need his own Secret Service detail after all — but given the glaring and high-profile failures of the Secret Service recently, perhaps he’s better off without a detail from them anyway.
