Cockburn has endured his fair share of listening to insufferable rich women banging on about “female empowerment” lately, so when he was sent the trailer for Gutsy, a new Apple TV+ series starring Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, it almost proved to be the final straw.
The first look at #Gutsy is out now!
Loved every moment I spent with these remarkable women and I hope their gutsiness inspires you too!

The two-minute trailer begins with Hillary, fresh from sidestepping the Department of Justice, and Chelsea, fresh from ruining the end of Derry Girls, jumping into a car and setting off on their super-fun-girls’-trip. Hillary tells us: “We’re hitting the road to shine a light on women that inspire us to be bolder and braver.” If that wasn’t bad enough, Kate Hudson — admittedly Mr C had to remind himself who she was with a Google — talks about how “leadership is like a rainbow.” How profound!
Throughout the clip, the women discuss what it means to be gutsy. While other women, such as Kim Kardashian, used the term to self-promote how selfless and great they are, Hillary used it to tell the world that staying married to good ol’ Bill Clinton was the “gutsiest thing she ever did.” Cockburn is sure that Monica Lewinsky, Paula Jones, Kathryn Willey, Gennifer Flowers and Juannita Broaddrick would agree.
Now, Mr C didn’t exactly give the trailer a fair chance from the offset, so he scoured the internet to find out what other viewers though. One tweeter summed it up poetically, saying ‘This is making my eyes melt,” while another said that they “thought this was a show about colon stuff.”
The cast of empowered women includes Kim Kardashian, Megan Thee Stallion, Wanda Sykes and Amy Schumer. It looks like Amy was sick of being the most hated woman on the planet and wanted to surround herself with more like-minded souls that do… not very much. In response to the trailer, one person asked Chelsea, “Did hanging out with women who have actual jobs make you feel inadequate?”
Talking about the filming experience, the former FLOTUS admits, “I was nervous. Being in front of the camera in this series was kind of a leap of faith for me. It was outside my comfort zone.” Not to sound cynical, but how is it exactly that Hillary, the former first lady, senator, secretary of state and two-time presidential candidate, remains uncomfortable in front of a camera?
It looks like Chelsea Clinton has gained some real sleb friends from the series, as she recently told the world that she’s Team Kim. Clinton said: “I’ve had to let go of Kanye, because it’s just, I can’t. Just the way that he has treated Kim Kardashian, the way that he has talked about women is unconscionable to me.” Does someone want to remind her who her father is?
Mr C is sure that Kanye, whose net worth is $2billion, will be devastated that Chelsea has “removed him from my music library.”
With hundreds of streaming services and the thousands of hours of content being produced for them, Cockburn is just so happy that Apple opted to dedicate its cameras to the perennially ignored Clinton girlbosses. Can’t wait for the premiere on September 9!
