Donald Trump: either Joe or Hunter left cocaine in the White House

Back in 2023, when Joe Biden was president of the United States, there was something of a drugs scandal in the White House, when the Secret Service found a gram of cocaine in the West Wing.

An investigation was launched, but while Secret Service officials trawled through their security systems and indexed “several hundred” people who entered the White House, they were unable to identify a suspect. There was “insufficient DNA” on the bag in question and an FBI lab was unable to retrieve any fingerprints.

A mystery indeed. Who could have left the cocaine there? It’s clearly something that has been on Donald Trump’s mind since he’s returned to the Oval Office.

Asked about the incident by The Spectator’s Ben Domenech, who interviewed the president on Thursday, Trump joked that Joe Biden might have been to blame, or perhaps his son Hunter (who was convicted last year of lying about his drug use when buying a gun).

At the time the drugs were found, the Biden family had decamped to Camp David in Maryland. Still, it seems the current president is suspicious about the incident — pointing out that the cubby hole or “bin” where the cocaine was found, while normally “filthy,” had been wiped down with alcohol.

All in all Trump seems unimpressed with the behavior of the previous White House, saying, “I have to tell you, I think I’m going to look into that because… bad stuff happened there.”

BD: So… who actually left the cocaine in the White House?

DJT: Well, either Joe or Hunter. Could be Joe, too. OK, so that was such a terrible thing because, you know, those bins are very loaded up with… they’re not clean, and they have hundreds and even thousands of fingerprints. And when they went to look at it, it was absolutely stone cold, wiped dry. You know that, right?

BD: See? Well, because, I mean, I was briefly a Bush speechwriter and staff person. And so I knew exactly what they were talking about. And I was like, “those things are filthy.” They’re filthy.

DJT: And there were fingerprints. I mean, if you went to one, maybe we’re cleaner, but if you went to one at any time, you would see hundreds. Everybody in there would leave a fingerprint when they went in and that thing was wiped out with, with the strongest form of alcohol.

BD: That’s hilarious, you know. Well, not hilarious. Sad.

DJT: By the way, and I have to tell you, I think I’m going to look into that because it was… bad stuff happened there.
