Nina Jankowicz, who has her own lengthy rap sheet as a serial spreader of fake news, is heading up the Department of Homeland Security’s new “Disinformation Governance Board.”

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki was caught flat-out lying on Thursday and rather than apologize, or at least circle back, as she used to say, the Peppermint Patty lookalike doubled down.
First, though, we need to rewind a bit. After all, as Jen always tells us, context matters.
In February of this year, Washington Free Beacon reporter Patrick Hauf wrote a piece headlined, “Biden Admin To Fund Crack Pipe Distribution To Advance ‘Racial Equity.’”
The story set social media ablaze. The pushback from outraged Americans was instant.
The piece explained that the $30 million grant program would begin in May and would “provide funds to nonprofits and local governments to help make drug use safer for addicts.” Hauf continued, “Included in the grant, which is overseen by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS, or as Joe Biden calls it, ‘HE’), are funds for ‘smoking kits/supplies.’”
Soon after the report broke the internet, HHS put out a statement totally denying the report: “Accordingly, no federal funding will be used directly or through subsequent reimbursement of grantees to put pipes in safe smoking kits.”
Later, a reporter asked Psaki if the pipes only got scrapped from the kit because of the subsequent reporting and pushback. She did not mince words. “They were never a part of the kit; it was inaccurate reporting,” she said. “And we wanted to put out information to make that clear.”
Once Psaki harrumphed “inaccurate reporting,” the legacy media were off to the races. Biden cheerleaders took their cue from their favorite press secretary and began “debunking” the story.
The Washington Post’s crack scribe Glenn Kessler ran an investigation into the reporting and noted that Hauf did not specifically ask HHS if pipes would be included in the kits.
“Instead, he looked elsewhere for examples of what is typically in such smoking kits and found that they often included glass stems (pipes),” wrote Kessler.
Soon, Forbes, CNN, USA Today, Reuters, Snopes and the usual Deep State news sites followed lemming-like with their own “fact checks.” As always, they all came to the exact same conclusion: the story could be discredited because Hauf made assumptions about the smoking kits.
Fast forward to this week. The Free Beacon decided to circle back, Psaki-style, on its so-called “inaccurate reporting.”
It turns out that these safe-smoking kits do include crack pipes after all. As Joe Biden would say, “I mean it! Not a joke!”
Hauf wrote, “The findings are the result of Washington Free Beacon visits to five harm-reduction organizations and calls to over two dozen more. In fact, every organization we visited — facilities in Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Richmond, Va. — included crack pipes in the kits.”
In Boston, in fact, the kits included a twofer — a crack pipe and a meth pipe. Hauf held up both of them live on Fox News Thursday night.
Now comes the part of the story where soon-to-be MSNBC star Jen Psaki and her trained seals in the media should offer Patrick Hauf and the Free Beacon groveling apologies for damaging their reputations with an unfounded smear campaign.
You know, like they did for Carter Page, Nicholas Sandman, Kyle Rittenhouse… er, never mind.
Instead, when asked about the Free Beacon’s follow-up reporting, Psaki responded, “This policy does not allow for crack pipes to be included. I would just note that this is a bit of a conspiracy theory that’s been spread out there. It’s not accurate.”
I’m old enough to remember when Hunter Biden’s laptop was a “bit of a conspiracy theory.” Perhaps if the New York Times decides to revisit the smoking-kit crack pipes in two years, then the story will be considered real news. But not until they “confirm” it — the way they did with Hunter Biden’s XXX-rated laptop eighteen months after Twitter banned it for being … a threat to Democrat hegemony.
This latest Big Lie not only showcases the shameless dishonesty of the Biden regime but also highlights how 99 percent of the media are now far more interested in agitprop than in real news.
Free-speech “absolutists,” as Jankowicz calls us, may have gone a little overboard lately with the Orwellian references. But state-run media are looking more and more like 1984’s Ministry of Truth.
As conservative outlets like the Washington Free Beacon are excoriated for breaking real news stories, the likes of the Washington Post get Pulitzer Prizes for their “deeply reported” fake news about events concocted out of thin air by Hillary Clinton’s paid operatives.
The lesson here is, any time a Democrat says something is a “conspiracy theory,” that almost always means it’s true.
