Everybody hates Donald?
An emergency gathering is set to be held in Miami next week to talk about “the Trump problem,” a source tells Cockburn. Steve Wynn and other big-shot GOP donors are said to want to “move on from Trump,” so are coming together to decide how to keep him from securing the 2024 nomination. The former president has been said to be in a “terrible mood” and “throwing regular tantrums” after the failure of his chosen candidates in the midterms.
He is also facing mutiny from previously die-hard fans who adored him before Tuesday, such as:
Candace Owens: “Trump needs to take a good look in the mirror and he needs to take a good look in the room, and he needs to read the room accurately. He needs to exercise a tiny bit more humility when he gets something wrong.”
Caleb Hull: “I voted for Trump twice and campaigned for him. He did some great things in office. But Trump’s selfishness really hurt us this election and it’s time to move on from him. He’s playing right into Democrats’ hands right now by attacking DeSantis and he’s lost me.”
Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears of Virginia: “I could not support him. I just couldn’t. A true leader understands when they have become a liability.”

Since then: new Parler owner Kanye West has seen every major commercial contract canceled following his repeated antisemitic comments. Elon Musk has purchased Twitter and seen an exodus of executives after his mass firings and “overhaul” of the verification system. And Donald Trump has been posting delirious rants about Ron DeSantis, Glenn Youngkin and any other 2024 GOP prospect on his own app Truth Social.

Cockburn congratulates Aussie newshound Jonathan Swan, who is leaving newsletter giant Axios for the lofty spires of the New York Times, it was announced today. Swan joined as one of Axios’s first hires from the Hill on December 2, 2016, ahead of its 2017 launch. Cockburn wonders if Swan’s last day at Axios will be in three weeks’ time, on December 2. That’d be a nice round six years on the dot — ample time for, say, an early employee’s stock options to fully vest. Could this be the start of an early employee exodus?

Politicos across the pond are perplexed after reading former British prime minister Boris Johnson’s latest appointments for life peerages in the House of Lords. Johnson’s ex-aide, Charlotte Owen will be the youngest ever life peer after working as a Downing Street special advisor from February 2021 until October this year. One Downing Street insider told the Telegraph they had no recollection of Ms. Owen ever working inside Number 10. Another insider told Cockburn that “nobody knows what she actually did with her days.” How curious…

A helping hand from Red Scare’s Dasha
Rumors have been swirling about the possibility of Red Scare podcast host Dasha Nekrasova and disgraced comedian Louis C.K. dating. A tipster on Deuxmoi is claiming to have corroborated them.
The anon Instagram post said: “Around noon today I was at the Met and saw Louis C.K. walking around looking at the art with Dasha Nekrasova. I was trying to eavesdrop but couldn’t hear because they were speaking very softly. Followed them around fora little bit to try and get a read on their relationship and then I observed them holding hands in front of the bust of Mary Shelley. I heard Dasha say “she was so beautiful” and then I left. They definitely seemed like a new item on second or third date.”
